INK
Sometime during the pandemic, Salgado began to keep a sketchbook to refresh their work ethic. Feeling stagnant and that they had a rigid process for creating work, they challenged themself to work in a difficult medium to jumpstart their creativity. Landscapes are not a subject they enjoyed drawing, and used coffee shops and park views they visited as inspiration. They went from forcing themself to pick up a brush pen to looking forward to sitting down with a cup of coffee to sketch. Mistakes began to turn into charming details that feel more human and this experiment helped changed their mentality towards making art. These are the results of their little tour with an ink brush in Milwaukee.
